Paris August 1 The Nouvelle Revue published a secret report said to be sent by Prince Bismarck to Emperor Frederick regarding Princess Victoria's marriage to Prince Alexander of Battenberg. The report urges avoiding wounds to Russian feelings and preserving official sympathy between William II and the Czar while backing German aligned Russian policy within bound limits.
At the shareholders meeting M de Lesseps promised the canal would open in 1890 and the report was approved amid cries of Vive De Lesseps. Lynn August 1. City forester J. M. Teel aged 66 was assaulted by Frank Breed a prominent Mt. Vernon street shoe maker. Breed ordered Teel from his office after Teel sought to see employee Robinson about official business. Teel was grabbed hurled into the street and a warrant for Breed's arrest was issued.

Dr. Robert Morris, born in Massachusetts in 1917, died Tuesday in La Grange, Kentucky. He began as a minister, joined the insurance business in Mississippi, wrote for Masonic magazines, and founded The Voice of Masonry and American Freemason. He also established a Jerusalem Masonic lodge after a Holy Land visit in 1868.
