Ancient and Honorable Artillery shows poor turnout at Grant memorial parade
A Boston crowd watched a small Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company contingent march in the Grant memorial celebration. Of 750 members only 57 joined the Faneuil Hall start, with doubts about participation amid internal feuding between Hedges and Walker and a disputed portrait controversy. The First Corps of Cadets and Second Infantry M V M joined from other locations for a brief Empire City appearance before returning by steamer.
