Colored Boy Leads Parade In Historic Boston Cadets Drill
An illness of Captain James A. Ratta led to Malcolm G. Banks being elected captain of Company G, Third Regiment, making him the first colored boy to lead 1800 white cadets in Boston School Grounds parade. Banks will lead the parade as third regiment takes the lead this year. The English High School drill at Mechanics Hall showcased top prizes and a list of the ten best drilled men across both regiments.
