Dorchester is gripped by a month of dog poisonings around Pope's Hill. Police and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals cooperate to find the culprit. A $100 reward offered by SPCA president George T. Angell seeks arrest and conviction of any connected person.
Captain J. J. Flaherty has named seven of eight members for the Democratic executive committee. The appointed include A. C. Drinkwater of Braintree Colonel William A. Gaston of Boston Hon. Charles S. Hamlin of Boston Congressman John A. Kelcher of Boston Dr. William J. Sullivan of Lawrence James E. Sullivan of Fall River and Daniel Toomey of Springfield.
Father John O'Brien rector of Sacred Heart Church East Cambridge was decisively defeated 9 to 2 in a vote by the Cambridge Board of Aldermen for park commissioner by Mayor Daly. Aldermen Coveney and Allen were the only nonpartisan members to favor him. The vote occurred with no remarks and O'Brien was absent. City government also approved a four track subway franchise order in both branches.

Hugo Kelly of Chicago won a 10 round decision over Philadelphia Jack O'Brien in Indianapolis at the Auditorium. O'Brien claimed illness. Preliminary bout saw George Koerder KO Danny Donovan in the second round.
George Ashley of Fall River and Larry Connolly of South Boston fought 12 rounds to a draw before the Young Men's Social and Athletic Club tonight.
Patrolman John J. Freeman of Station 10 saved three occupants from a hallway blaze at 114 Heath Street. He carried out eight year old Josephine Ridlon and eight year old John Ridlon after pulling Lawrence Sweeney Jr. to safety. Sweeney was injured in a fall while exiting and hospitalized. fire loss described as slight.
James Britt and English lightweight champion Jabez White will fight at Woodward's Pavilion in San Francisco on May 1 under a Hayes Valley Club permit. Charley Mitchell represents White. Britt's manager has reached an agreement. Purses allocate 50 percent to each fighter of gross receipts with the winner receiving 60 percent of his share and the loser 40 percent.
