Five straight games highlight Phillies and Nationals in baseball tale
Washington hosts a long day of ball with Boston as O'Day falters on a late error by Kelly, allowing the decisive run in the eleventh. Clarkson pitched well as O'Day struck out more, but a wild pitch and fumbled grounder let Harris reach and ignite a late rally. In New York, Philadelphia and New York split their doubleheader with strong offense and shaky defense, Wood and Ward sparking the Phillies while Mulvey and McGuire shine for New York, yielding an early season clash.
