Market gains Persist As Rails Lead Broad Advance

New York stocks extended yesterday's strength driven by rails with broad demand for steels coppers and industrial shares. United States Steel surged 2 3 4 to 10 8 amid profit taking while affiliated stocks rose but faded late. Total volume 1 700 000 shares with par value bonds firm though unremarkable.
