Four Hurt as Auto Plunges From River Parkway Bridge
A five seated touring car driven by Alfred Treffey plunged through a railing on the Charles River Parkway above Riverbank Court Cambridge injuring four women and Treffey. One woman Bridget Carney died and Miss Sadie Libby suffered a fractured spine. The rest, Miss Nellie Flint and Miss Mary Lynch, had cuts, fractures or internal injuries. Treffey blamed for the crash by failing to negotiate an abrupt right turn. Ambulance arrived fifteen minutes later and all were taken to Cambridge Relief Hospital.
