Divorce Granted to Mrs Nettie Shaw in Salem Court

Mrs Nettie E dredge Shaw wife of ex Senator James F Shaw won a divorce in the Salem Superior Court on grounds of cruel treatment. The suit was uncontested and she also received custody of her son Eldredge. The cross libel by Mr Shaw was dismissed.

Albany Assembly Narrowly Defeats Income Tax Resolution

In Albany the Assembly failed to ratify a proposed constitutional income tax amendment by 74 to 76. After a motion to table passed, the measure could be called up again, with optimism from Murray that it could win support this session. Woman heroically phones for help as two downtown fires blaze

A woman whose apron caught fire at the Swan Electric Co in Pearl Street phoned the blaze to summon firemen. In a separate strike on West Dedham Street 95 97, John McDonald and coworkers rescued his mother in law wife and four children before fire crews saved the Hunter and Ross building and 12 horses. No heavy damage reported.

More Men Than Ever In Boston Police Listing

Boston police counts show 203 603 males over 20 on April 1, up from 201 391 last year, with 2212 more names than in previous tabulations. Gains occurred in 15 of 25 wards while wards 2 through 10 and 13 declined. Ward 20 led with a 944 increase. ward 6 dropped 479.
