Died at the Touraine Hon Alman A Strout Portland Attorney

The Hon Alman A Strout a leading Portland Maine attorney died at the Touraine Hotel yesterday afternoon after a trip toward California for health. He had earlier opened a law office in 1889, served as assistant counsel in the Alabama claims distribution, and acted as attorney for the Grand Trunk Boston and Maine and other corporations. He was noted as a premier jury lawyer in Maine.

A fourth floor fire in the Tiles ton block at Estey place and Aldine street triggered multiple alarms. Originated in General Electric Company stores with losses mainly from water. River yields body found in harbor

The crew of the Boston police steamer Watchman recovered a badly decomposed man in the harbor yesterday afternoon. He was about 40, six feet seven inches, 160 pounds, with red hair and sandy mustache, wearing blue jumpers and striped over. Police believe the man is Patrick Kelly, missing from No 2 Fifth Street Place since March 15.

A major Chelsea blaze destroyed the George Hobbs Box Company factory at Marginal and Highland streets. Seven horses burned to death as stock and machinery suffered heavy losses, with the fire blamed on a horse kicking a lantern or possible incendiary origin.

Fire hits four story building on North Street second week

Firemen answered an alarm at 9 06 from Box 16 to the four story brick building at 16 and 18 North Street owned by Joseph P Flatley and occupied by James R Armstrong. The structure suffered only slight damage after a second floor blaze was quickly extinguished. The fire's cause will be investigated by Fire Marshal Whitcomb's office.
