Parker Beats Tammany Hearst at New York Democratic Convention

In Albany on April 18 the Democratic Party of New York instructed its delegates to back Parker for president. Tammany and Hearst were defeated 301 to 149 as Murphy forces led by Bourke Cochran and Senator Grady faced strong anti Tammany opposition led by Senator McCarren. Delegates-at-large include Hill, Murphy Jr, Ehret, and Ridgeway with alternates Bulger, Ely, Ackerman, and Harrison. Tammany secured Ehret as a delegate at large and Warry Payne Whitney as an alternate. The platform orders a unit vote for Parker and lists notable electors and district delegates from New York City and beyond.
