Wesley W. Killham and wife Etta A. were arrested in Lynn on a warrant accusing assault and battery and false imprisonment of 3 year old Celia Leonard from Boston. Officers Wright and Nelson made the arrests. both confess belief the girl was given to them. In Dedham Superior Court Judge Hammond presided over the Commonwealth versus James McCormick of Boston. McCormick faces charges of assault with a pistol and intent to kill Officer Henry Dugan Jr. from an Oct 29 1895 incident in East Braintree. Testimony placed Dugan, shots exchanged, and McCormick’s alibi and demeanor were contested. The jury retired at adjournment and may return a sealed verdict on Tuesday morning.
