British Line Holds at Every Point in Flanders
British resistance along the eight mile front at Neuve Eglise and beyond repels repeated German attempts to outflank Ypres. Despite heavy losses, the British maintain possession of key villages as the German assault proves costly. Finland falls nearer Helsingfors with detachments within 12 miles of the capital as German ships anchor in the harbor. Paris endures a night of long range bombardment with minimal damage and one civilian casualty.
