German assault divisions drive against British defenses on the northern front but are repulsed under heavy fire. Observers say the latest push has failed, with casualties reported on both sides and no breakthrough achieved.
Seven days after a massive German assault along the Lens to Ypres front the offensive stalls as German gains falter near key rail junctions. The Tages Zeitung denounces Emperor Charles’ meddling in affairs.
