Ernest Moschner aged 35 murdered his four children and then killed himself at 250 Rollstone Street Fitchburg while temporarily insane from ill health. His wife found the bodies upon returning from work.
The father summoned Elsie 12 Myrtle 11 Norman 8 and Ernest 6 from a yard game into the home. In the second story bedroom he fired a 32 calibre revolver into Elsie killing her instantly. The report continues on page o sa.
The 13th district election is the first test of strength among the three leading parties since President Wilson’s election. The Democratic tariff bill is the main issue and results will influence Massachusetts gubernatorial politics this fall as the state seals the only governor race this year.
The Republican and Bull Moose candidates attack the Democratic tariff citing free list shoes and lowered schedules as harming state industries. Democratic hopeful John J. Mitchell appeals as an endorsement of Wilson administration policy. The tariff issue is clearly drawn.

Percy Reeves a 14 year old inmate at the New Hampshire State Industrial School drowned in the Merrimac River while trying to escape a posse of trusties.
Reeves son of Mr and Mrs Orin Reeves of Lakeport New Hampshire drowned after an escape attempt from the state school. Dabineau the trusty and a posse pursued the escapees as Reeves plunged into the river and vanished beneath the swift current. Dabineau swam to aid rescuers and Reeves body was recovered by Manchester police and sent to Lakeport tomorrow.
The New England Telephone and Telegraph Company will raise weekly wages for metropolitan operators. After pressure from the Chamber of Commerce mediation committee, the controversial anniversary bonus plan was discarded and wages will rise to please the public and workers.
Printed schedules of the weekly wages and working conditions will be posted in all exchanges in the metropolitan district this morning. The increases granted match the workers demands, and the company aims to be generous and fair. President Spalding released a typewritten statement noting careful reconsideration at the Chamber of Commerce committee’s suggestion.
