New York April 12 The Thaw jury remains deadlocked after over 33 hours of debate. Jurors split on murder first degree versus acquittal with manslaughter and insanity questions cited as key issues. Officials expect further court action at 10 30 this morning as deliberations continue.
Fort William Ontario April 11 Fifteen people die and twenty are injured when a Canadian Pacific passenger train derails near Chap eau after a broken rail. Several passengers are trapped and burned as cars plunge into a lake and flames spread through wreckage. Mrs Rev August B Jorkland of Worcester Massachusetts is reported among the dead.
New York April 11 reports a nerve racking Thaw trial day as jurors fail to reach a verdict. Judge Fitzgerald locks the jury for the night amid continued uncertainty and speculation of a possible mistrial.
The War Department will exhaust legal resources to remove the blot against the American soldier’s uniform. A January ruling in Plattsburg New York found no case against rink proprietors who barred Sgt Higgins and his escorts. Acting Secretary Oliver asked the Attorney General for aid in pursuing the prosecution.

An unknown colored man fired at James Ryan on Kemble street Roxbury near Walham street by Harrison avenue about 10 last night. The bullet sped past Ryan and lodged in a nearby house as a crowd chased the assailant, who escaped.
