Police arrest four in Lynn drugging and robbery case

Inspectors Rowe and Wells seized four suspects at Mrs Herlihy’s Pleasant street home on a complaint by Thomas McNab. Miss Leary and Mrs Herlihy, plus two men Sweeney and White, are charged with drugging and robbing McNab of $12 after he met Leary at the depot and was lured to the Herlihy house. Muskegon April 11 George W King a druggist and Mrs Henry W Hughson were arrested on murder charges in the July 1892 death of Nathan Douglass from arsenic traces detected in exhumed organs. Douglass had life insurance payable to his wife Mrs Hughson. King aided illness care and drew the will.

Goebel fatally shoots bank cashier in Covington duel

W P Goebel shot and instantly killed John L Sanford cashier of the Farmers and Traders Bank in Covington Kentucky. Goebel a lawyer and state senator was in a confrontation with Sanford who fired first wounding Goebel in the shoulder. Goebel then fired three times killing Sanford and surrendered to authorities.
