Boston officials announce that at least ten retail liquor dealers will be refused licenses on May 1. Commissioner Clark says the board decided not to grant licenses to those believed unfit to operate such businesses. Names and locations will not be disclosed. licenses will be offered to others after due process.
April 10 Weymouth grips reform talk as economy measures sparked a spasm of virtue leaving streets dark and liquor issues unresolved. Frustrated residents plan a Friday town meeting to restore light and authorize action while a disputed North Waving school vote prompts renewed corrections.

Elijah Pick, a carpenter, shot Harry Doty at Harry Young's Washington street residence. Pick, age about 60, fired after a long quarrel with his wife. Doty was wounded in the wrist and treated by Dr. Jones. Pick was jailed for grand jury after pleading that the act stemmed from family trouble.
Washington forecast for Thursday and Friday calls for cloudy to partly cloudy skies with diminishing showers and fresh northerly winds. Friday expected fair weather with northerly winds.
