Boy in City Hospital Dies After Self Inflicted Wounds
Charles L Farnham, seventeen, died at City Hospital after shooting himself twice in a grave act of despair. Orphan and adoptee, he had a long pattern of small thefts, troubling his benefactor Mrs Farnham who sought police help after a stolen watch was linked to him. The boy’s room was found in disarray and he died four hours after surgery to remove a bullet from his head. Authorities note the wounds were three to four hours apart.
