Airship Flight in Canada Declared a Success in Baddeck
In Baddeck N S on April 5 Gardiner Hubbard of Boston designed a monoplane built by Canadian Aerodrome Co. It conducted several half mile ice flights over Baddeck Bay reaching 30 feet altitude. The craft resembled the Bleriot design and experts praised its potential. The machine briefly sank returning to shore but was saved with little damage. Hubbard is related to Boston lawyer Charles Eustis Hubbard and to Mrs Alexander Graham Bell. Plans aim to establish Baddeck as a major American aviation center with continued flights this season.
