Fog Shuts In As Mayer Strikes Admiral Schley Near Boston

The steamers Charles F Mayer and Admiral Schley collided near a Boston lightship in dense fog. Mayer’s bow twisted, Schley suffered heavy damage to rails and deck, two barges in tow, two weeks for repairs, mail and cargo redirected to Jamaica after the crash. Commonwealth Arrives Amid Fog at Charlestown Pier

The Dominion liner Commonwealth with 81 1 saloon, 143 second cabin and 581 steerage passengers docked at Charlestown at 415 yesterday afternoon after a voyage from Cork via Liverpool and Queenstown.
