Paris April 4 President Wilson is bedridden with a severe cold as the Paris White House notes he works by day and night since the council of four formed. He has had little rest and limited exercise, while his return to duty remains uncertain.
The 101st Infantry from Boston aboard the transport America nears homeland as Colonel Edward L. Logan and ship officers announce an expected inshore arrival at noon. The Mt Vernon’s vanguard previously docked, the men of the Fighting Ninth Dandy Fifth and Famous Sixth are near the outer harbor en route to Commonwealth Pier.
The 5824 officers and men of New England’s Fighting Yankee Division arrive home at Commonwealth Pier Boston after victory in France. Crowds cheer as they await transport to Camp Devens, while flags bands and whistles mark the homecoming.
Paris April 4 AP reassures delegates that President Wilson remains under care in his room. Doctors say the condition is due to a severe cold not influenza and will require careful watching for at least one more day.
