D P Morse a prominent Bare Vermont resident aged 77 and a native of Brookfield died last night He served as a town official for many years and was a retired farmer and merchant He leaves three sons and one daughter.

J W Hamilton colored ex preacher died in the electric chair in Sing Sing after being condemned for the throat-cutting murder of his wife at Winfield Long Island on May 2 1892. W Harris in adjacent cell heard the warrant reading and showed no reaction as the single shock caused instantaneous death with no visible burns.

In Springfield on April 8 Italians at the Flint quarry in Monson fought. Mike Smith known as No 15 was stabbed in the neck by No 86 and struck on the head with an axe by an unknown Italian. Injuries not dangerous.
A row among Italian workers at the W N Flynt Granite Company plant in Monson yesterday left Michael Smith seriously injured. He was struck with an axe, slashed on the neck with a razor, and bruised about the head after being advanced to gang formanship. The principal assailant fled town.
A heated Board of Aldermen session centered on an order authorizing the Mayor and law department to seek legislative authorization and fund a gas trust investigation. Hallstrom urged reconsideration while Flood argued against public money for the effort, and only Jomasney and Hallstram supported passage as Dever and others opposed. The vote failed to pass the order.
