Siegel Offer to Pay Debtors Could Cover Losses
Friends of Henry Siegel and Frank Vogel offer $500000 to fund full restitution to about 15000 depositors of Henry Siegel & Co private bank. The plan ties payment to dropping prosecutions for Vogel and Siegel. District Attorney Whitman has not publicly agreed and may seek clemency if they plead guilty. Additional $100000 would go to the Federal receiver to aid deposits. Chicago backers are named.
