Weston Murder Mystery Deepens After Mabel Page Found Dead

Mabel Page is found slain in her bed at her father's Weston home with stab wounds to the back abdomen and heart, plus throat wounds after death. The weapon is missing and no robbery or clear motive. Death by own action aboard the Maine officer Warburton

Lieutenant-Commander Edgar Townsend Warburton chief engineer of the Maine shot himself in his cabin. He died about 40 minutes later. The executive officer heard the shot as it came through the cabin door. No cause was given for the act. Warburton had been with the Maine since commissioning and had earlier served on the Indiana. The body will be shipped to Philadelphia for his wife.
