Lebanon defeated Rushville 62 to 5 in a one sided Wednesday basketball game. Rushville held to a single field goal as Lebanon built a large lead with easy shots and long range attempts. New Augusta beat Lebanon’s second team 29 to 22 in a rough closely contested curtain raiser.

Funeral Riggins of Shannondale Held at Pludyterian Church
The funeral for Jesse Riggins of Shannondale was held Tuesday at two in the afternoon at the Pludyterian Church with Rev. Allen A. McRea and the local Odd Fellows in charge. Born Oct. 26, 1833 in North Carolina, he died Dec. 28, 1913 at age 80. Surviving children include Val Riggins Charlotta Kiplinger George P. Riggins Gertrude Jones and Ol Riggins. He was a Bethel Presbyterian member and a lover of grandchildren eight in number.

Carrie L Young 65 widow of the late John Young, longtime Frankfort resident, dies at her daughter Mrs D Bergen’s home in Frankfort after a long illness. She was born near Lebanon in 184? and married to Mr Young, lived on a Boone County farm before moving to this city. Survived by daughter Mrs Bergen and son Lawrence (died in infancy) plus two half-siblings and two half-sisters. Active in church and mission work, last attended church before Christmas.
