Weekend Highway Crashes Cause 1700 Dollars In Damages
Two weekend wrecks on Highway 78 north of Bonham caused about 1700 dollars in damage. No serious injuries were reported. Billy Joe Stroud of Bonham rear ended Lois D. Donaghey of Ivanhoe Rt. 1, damaging Stroud’s car 700 to 800 dollars and Donaghey’s 200 dollars. Earlier, Joe Smith of Albany Oklahoma lost control and hit a parked pickup owned by Robert Fairchild of Bonham, with damages 40 dollars to the truck and 300 to Smith’s car.

Suspect Returned For Questioning In Store Burglary
A white man was brought back to Fannin County from Quanah to be questioned in the burglary of the Wallace Holecomb drug store in Trenton last month. Sheriff Hoyt Ivey said the man was questioned at the time of the break in and released then. He had been working for a farmer in the Trenton area and quit his job without notice.

White Man Held In Two Burglaries
A white man was arrested by city police in connection with two weekend burglaries in Bonham. Chief McKissack said charges would be filed by County Attorney Tibby Wright. The suspect entered East 4th Street home of Mr and Mrs Henderson taking a bedspread and swapping hats then entered West 5th Street home of Mrs Lorene Drake taking a shirt a fountain pen and cigarettes. He was found hiding in an old school bus on a used car lot.

Life Sentence Meted For Will Griffin Murder
A Sixth District Court jury, before Judge A M Harrison, found Willie Griffin guilty of murder with malice aforethought in the death of his wife Mary Anne and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
