The Bartley-Woods Community Improvement Club will hold its June meeting Wednesday night at the Community Center. Members should bring a covered dish for a supper before the program. The Indian Drums are beating in the Big Thicket of Texas again with a summer program for visitors from June 3 through Labor Day featuring Indian dances and visitors may join in after performances.
Former President Sukarno observes his 66th birthday in retirement at his former residence as Acting President Suharto bans celebration at the Merdeka Palace and informs sources he planned to host about 100 friends.
Israel announced control of Gaza City and Jerusalem as fighting surged toward the Suez Canal. The Soviet Union called for an immediate cease fire while Egypt accused the U S and Britain of backing Israel. Jordans claims of Arab losses mounted as two American journalists were killed.
Honey Grove citizens joined in a memorial observance honoring the 109th birthday of David Graham Hull whose foundation funds have supported social welfare and community improvements. R F Voyer unveiled a new 265 seat theatre and accepted about $3,000 in gifts from 63 donors for the foundation.
U S B52 bombers hit five infiltration routes and staging areas in South Vietnam while American tanks rescued GIs from a burning ammo and fuel dump. U S fighter bombers logged 113 missions over North Vietnam and three MIGs were shot down, with one RF8 Crusader lost. Spokesmen say 13 Marines killed and at least 17 wounded in 23 days of action, and 150000 gallons of helicopter fuel destroyed at a forward base.

A proposed reorganization of reserve components would add about 300 National Guardsmen in Texas despite overall unit cuts. State Adjutant General Thomas Bishop said the change creates three high priority brigades totaling over 12 000 guardsmen plus an engineer battalion an army aviation group and separate mechanized infantry and tank battalions. The brigades are likely to be based in San Antonio Detriot and Austin replacing current headquarters divisions.
