Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Fretwell 28 were held Wednesday at 3 PM in Mt Carmel cemetery Wolfe City with Rev C P Sansom officiating. She died after three weeks illness at her Bailey area home. Survived by husband C Fretwell and four children Frances B W George Wayne Ella. Parents Mr and Mrs B Chambley of Windom, sister Mrs Jennie Burnett. Interment at Mt Carmel.
An English taxicab driver E Earnes sails on the Queen Mary for a two week visit to the United States as a guest of Pittsburgh businessman W jC Fownes. Fownes chose Earnes after using his cab in London and during a tour of South England and South Wales. Fownes praised Earnes as a fine fellow with an interest in antiques.
