The Watkin Company begins a new route at Benham with no car necessary, pledging steady service and listing JR Watkin at 70-84 W Iowa Ave, Memphis, Tenn as a contact point for weekly rates from 820 to 35 dollars.
Hollywood October reports Eddie Cantor named in a 751000 personal injury suit filed by Charles and Kilo Gollob who allege Cantor and associates called them Nazis and beat them after a March broadcast. They accuse Cantor Bert Gordon and Columbia Broadcasting Co of creating a hostile scene outside a theater. Gollobs describe assault by a man identified as Copdon while defending his wife.

BATON ROUGE August 1 The parish grand jury indicted New Orleans architect Leon Weiss and former LSU president Dr James Monroe Smith for embezzlement with Weiss as senior of Weiss Dreyous C Feforth firm. Indicted also were George Griffon H D Andrews Ly Griffon Senator Lorie Griffon and others for false pretenses involving University funds. All except Smith were ordered held with adjournment to August 15.
A hen at Russell Grocery and Produce laid an egg with two protective shells, one formed after the other broke. Owner F P Russell, with 40 years in produce, says he has never seen such an egg and doubts fertilization. He consulted poultry journals and dealers but finds no prior records.
Funeral services for Mrs. Joanna Tingle, mother of Mrs. Linnie Baker of Bonham, were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Tioga. She was laid to rest following the ceremony.
A death occurred at Sherman hospital. Mrs. Baker of Tioga had been married many years. Her husband survives along with children Mrs Mary Musser Randolph Mrs Myrtle McDuffie Sherman Mrs Minnie Perey Dallas Mrs Litty Lee Tom Bean Mrs Elsie Smith Sherman Mrs Baker and J H Tingle of JF10g8.
