Rifle Range Monthly Shoot Produces Ten Bulls Eyes
Good shooting highlighted Saturdays event at the local range. At 500 yards possibles were posted by F. Gilmore L. Roberts and A. Kimber. Gilmore carried on to ten bulls eyes and won the spoon for achieving ten consecutive bullseyes when nominating on the sixth shot. Scores followed.

War Episode Links Drossou Family Home to Gallipoli Fire
In the Anzac Day context a Gallipoli shell demolished the Drossou family home. The Drossous, now in Maffra and Orbost, recall planes circling the area and a Sunday shell that struck their house, trapping and then freeing Jack Drossou and his mother and brother through the back door as the building collapsed.

The public school closed for midwinter vacation last Friday. Mrs. BE M Geratchy sold her farm of 56 mores near Hilatead to Mr. J B Sautelle. Ribbenlake beat the local team 17 to 7 in football. Mr A E Clark was installed a bowser at Mt Darragh. Two Agricultural Bureau talks are set for Wednesday at the School of Arts by P J Baldwin on Herd Testing and by S Kentwell on Care of Cream.

Young man suffers severe leg injury near Riverview
Norman Cameron aged 18 was injured while walking in a paddock near Riverview. He fell into a hole, breaking his thigh and suffering exposure. He was found by Mr and Mrs McKay upon returning home and evacuated to hospital. The rainfall this month totals 197 points and the country remains green.

Bombala Beats Delegate 11–0 in Waratah Shield Opener
Bombala defeated Delegate 11 to nil on Delegate ground in the Waratah Shield first round. The 4 pm start was delayed due to ground repairs on the concrete cricket pitch. Bombala scorers included Elliott and W. Greer with tries, plus Obiraside converting a penalty goal and goal.
