The body of Samuel S S Morss traveled in a special baggage car to Fort Wayne after funeral services in Indianapolis. Relatives accompanied the casket, which was surrounded by floral tributes in the car. An accident occurred when J C Mount cut his hand while opening a box. he used Chamberlain's Pain Balm and reported relief. Davenport & Bhle offer the product.
Carl Bonham tells of being mistaken for a confidence man by a Tipton banker. He joined soldiers to change a large sum of small change into bills. At the bank the old bookkeeper warned him the bank had enough change and advised going to another bank.

A. W. Hamilton turns his office grate into a brick kiln and tests freshly sourced clay from the south. Rhodes and Hamilton hold an option on nearby land awaiting closure next week. One sample burned eight hours yielding a flint hard, smooth surface. Local potters rate the clay finer than imported German clay from a 130 acre source with 15 feet depth. Rhodes discovered the deposit after noting water washing a spring, prompting shipment of samples north, aided by an old local helper.

Cromer aimed to mend North Wells county divisions and boost his standing among Ossian and Wells county supporters.
Adams county Republicans name B. W. Quinn of Decatur as congressional candidate in the Eighth District. Quinn is cited as a response to anti Cromer sentiment, with an organized effort planned to defeat Cromer’s nomination. Quinn previously chaired the Adams county central committee in 1888 and later served as Decatur postmaster after a Harrison appointment.

Miss Ida Nicholson of Union Township was shaken and bruised in a runaway about a half mile south of Ossian while returning from Ossian to Fort Wayne. The horse bolted, leaping the fence and wrecking the buggy as the harness tore apart, but she walked back to Ossian to call for help.
A notice from S C Reid states they are buying second growth white elm poles four inches and larger cut to any length. Interested parties should call at the Clover Leaf railroad hub factory in Bluffton southwestern part for further particulars.
M. M. Austin of Winchester Indiana helped his wife with a severe stomach and liver ailment by using Dr King s New Life Pills. The relief was immediate and the wife was eventually cured. Available for 250 at Chase Deam s drug store.
