Bluffton residents who toured a 36 acre riverfront park with the Montpelier to Bluffton interurban party favor creating a stock company to finance a new city park. The proposal envisions a pavilion for dances, a ball ground, boating and bathing, with river access and ample shade. A spring site discussion is planned as a key step toward a riverside park near town.

An explosion occurred during blasting on the Ludlum farm near Keystone when glycerine lowered into a well detonated just below the derrick. The 70 foot derrick towered 80 feet above the ground as casing shot upward, but no one was harmed though a nearby wagon could have been struck.
An advertisement touts Bucklen’s Amnica Salve as a cure for Burns, Sores, Bruises, Cuts, Boils, Ulcers, Skin Eruptions and Piles. It claims thorough efficacy, a 24 cent price, and customer satisfaction guaranteed by Chas. C. Deam, a local druggist.
Floyd Busser an eight year old boy helping his father to feed horses near Domestic was kicked in the side as the horse broke loose. He was found unconscious but revived, and was taken to a physician for examination with fears of internal injuries.
Tam now purchases second growth white elm poles at the hub factory on the Clover Leaf railroad in Bluffton's southwest area.
Mrs Mary Stoddard of Rochester Ind owns the room and part of the Smoke House site where a two story brick building 27 by 100 feet will rise this fall. Dr Horton will move the Smoke House building to Washington street and fit it for business. Leichty may rent or sublet the new meat market space. the design forbids internal partitions.
Augustus Amos Crowsdale son of Robert and Jennie Crowsdale born September 7 1879 died October 1903 aged 24 years 28 days. He faced fever with courage and was beloved for his honesty industry and noble traits. He was not a church member but valued religion and Bible reading before death. Survived by mother two brothers two sisters and stepfather among many relatives and friends. Funeral at Baptist church Liberty Center with I O O F carrying service and burial at Mossburg cemetery. Reverend J L Rampnay officiated.

Dr J N Thurby secretary of the Indiana State Board of Health says twenty thousand consumptives exist in Indiana today and five hundred die annually. July saw death from consumption in 360 Indiana homes and 196 children made orphans, prompting a call for urgent action to curb the disease.

A transient named Springer travels from town to town claiming to repair furniture. He stops to shoe his horse and conducts quick races, often winning and taking sizable cash. The Huntington Journal notes he recently netted about 2000 dollars from Ligonier horsemen.
John Oliver of Philadelphia recounts severe illness and relief after using Medtric Bitters. He claims three doctors gave up, but one bottle improved his condition within weeks. He warns others to try the remedy available at Deam's drug store for 40 cents.
The Mercer Lumber Company filed suit in the county clerk's office against the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal church to enforce a mechanic's lien on the Commercial street building.
