Stolen Buggy Recovered in Murray Area
A buggy stolen from John Boyer of Rockcreek township was found last Monday in Adam Hesher’s barn on the Sol Staver farm near Murray. Hesher’s son David had moved the vehicle there claiming it came from a young man bound for Ft Wayne. Constable Whitman arrested the young Hesher in Montpelier and brought him to town for preliminary hearing before Justice O’Brien. Judge bound him over to court in 3000 bond, but he was released once bondsmen appeared.

Accident Injures Wesley Rockwell in West End
Last Thursday afternoon Wesley Rockwell suffered a severe leg fracture when a wagon load of railroad ties slid off during unloading near Studabaker warehouse in the West End. Dr. Cook set the broken femur and Rockwell, a Vera Cruz resident, was taken home that evening as friends rushed to his aid.

Welborn’s ally was bound at 290 dollars to keep the peace, and the accused was jailed. Oil field visitors included Standard Oil men from multiple cities and firms.
