An old dairy themed ad extols Scott's Emulsion as a milk of cod liver oil based tonic suitable for delicate stomachs. It claims children accept it well and offers a free sample with a penny and urges purchasing from Scott & Browne in New York with a price of one dollar.
Wells County may have a smallpox case in Jackson Township after a Friday call to Dr. Severin, county health officer. He dispatched disinfectants and quarantine cards if the report holds, noting few prior outbreaks in the northern part and urging strict adherence to his instructions to prevent an epidemic.
Hon Levi Mock prepares to depart for a southern hunting expedition likely around mid month. He has secured Yates to Lambert Mississippi for a new hunting term praised for good game. The space measures 29 by 19 feet with a front Washington street entry and connected lunch room. Wagner states he is a male resident over 21. William Nasit applies at the December 1904 Wells county board of commissioners for a one year liquor license to sell spiritous vinous and malt liquors in a room on the west end of a one story brick building fronting Johnson street Bluffton Indiana. The space measures 18 by 44 feet with a glass front and no partitions and can be securely closed.
A Durban correspondent from Natal reports a neighbor’s two month old child with a severe cough improved after using Chamberlains Cough Remedy smeared on the baby’s dummy teat. The claim presents the remedy as effective for both old and young.
The Clover Leaf Route offers World’s Fair trips to St Louis from April 30 to November 30 1904 with season tickets valid to Dec 15 at one and one third fare. Bluffton Indiana lenders Smith and Smith advertise a loan of 100000 dollars this year on first mortgage security on farms and city property at a very low interest rate.
A medicinal advertisement promotes Chamberlains Stomach and Liver Tablets as a mild effective remedy for constipation caused by dehydration. It argues drastic cathartics worsen conditions and urges trying the product, available from Davenport & Blie.
