Dr A L Mears eye specialist was attacked Monday evening near his Main Street office by Pete Poffenberger who beat him with a whip and pulled a gun. The dispute centers on glasses sold to Mrs Gardenour, Poffenberger’s mother in law. The incident drew a crowd and prompted threats of further action as Mears sought assault charges.
