James Sisk, merchant in Domestic, filed an affidavit against Elmer Powers of Domestic for petit larceny. Powers allegedly stole rubber boots valued at $3 on March 17 while store crowded with customers. Case moved between courts as jurisdiction issues arose and the matter remained unresolved.
Clerk Hugh Studabaker reports a high April docket with forty four state cases and one hundred fourteen civil cases awaiting trial. Many have lingered for years and some may never be tried. At prior term sixty four cases were dismissed or finished, setting a civil docket record.
