An early evening burglary attempt at the Me-Te residence drew local attention as intruders searched the home while residents Mrs Me-Te and Mr McBride were away. Neighbors describe the burglar as determined and bold, with ongoing fears of homegrown thieves organizing a provive venture to raise money for the thieves.
A Reading, Alabama resident credits Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy with saving a life after a violent diarrhoea attack. He says a 25 cent bottle and three doses cured him and praises it as the best bowel remedy, with Davenport & Eble selling it.
A large dinner at Poneto last Sunday brought together Mr John and Mrs Gerne Mr Frank Mizer and families and Mrs H W Neely with neighbors. The generous hostess provided a bountiful meal and the day was filled with happy social intercourse and warm greetings among old friends and relatives.

Petition filed with Wells County auditor seeks a new ditch in Jefferson township. Viewers reported findings. hearing set before county commissioners on Wednesday September 6 1904. Ditch route begins eighty nine feet east and twenty feet north from a defined corner and runs south to join Eight Mile Ditch affecting landowners listed including Tudor, Stoppenhagen and Broaders.
In the Jay Circuit Court the receiver for the Cincinnati Bluffton Chicago Railroad asks to borrow 32000 dollars secured by property to pay labor claims and rental obligations and to complete line extensions. The hearing is set for August 18 1904 at Portland Indiana, with Williams Fleming as Receiver and Prank B Jaqua as attorney.
The Wells County Circuit Court issues a sheriff s sale to public auction on August 27 1904 from 10 am to 4 pm at the courthouse door Wells County Indiana. The sale includes rents and profits for up to seven years and the fee simple of Lot No 87 Craigville as property of John P Strahm arising from Anna M Christ and John Christ. The auction notes relief from valuation or appraisement laws. Wm H Eichhorn attorney for plaintiff.
William H. Thornburg applies to Wells County Commissioners for a license to sell spirituous and malt liquors in Bluffton Lot 84 fronting Main Street. The room is on the ground floor of a two story frame building 17 by 46 feet, with a glass front and no partitions, designed for secure locking.
Robert Simison of Bluffton Indiana reports Holeman Runnells 80 acre land warrant No 16096 was lost after being placed with Mock & Sons. Searches failed and he applied for a duplicate warrant as assignee. Dated July 28 1904.
