Verizon cuts Southwest Virginia local rates for 55000 customers
Verizon Communications said 55 000 customers across 13 Southwest Virginia exchanges will see lower local telephone rates starting Saturday. Residential flat rate service drops from 2.229 to 4.96 dollars monthly, while business customers see savings from 6.57 to 11.68 dollars. The changes follow the Bell Atlantic and GTE merger forming Verizon, aligning GTE rates with other Virginia regions.
