The article profiles foundation executive editor McGlothlin who called Colley the idol of the class. He spoke thrice on Thursday at Bluefield and addressed about 60 business students and Student Government Association members at Bluefield College. McGlothlin’s career included building a non union company with 130 coal mines and five processing plants in Buchanan County and WV and KY. He predicted a coal slump, sold long term contracts to firms like American Electric Power, founded United Investment Company, and later diversified into private venture capital, nine golf courses, a roofing distributor, and oil and gas ventures.
