Moose Dictator Arrives in Gity Brightens Bluefield Visit
Dr. William F. Buehler of Chicago, supreme dictator of the Loyal Order of Moore, arrived in Bluefield last night after a lodge tour in the northern state. He will preside at Blunfield lodge No. 1079 tonight, initiating about seventy five candidates, with Judge Howell M. Tanner to introduce him. A banquet will follow the installation. This marks his second Bluefield visit in months, after a prior stop at Old Sweet Springs. He will not return there now due to time. He has been touring lodges east of the Mississippi this year to boost membership ahead of the Dos ton convention June 30 to July 4. He noted improved industrial conditions and renewed faith in the nation's recovery.

Elder Clark Dies After Seventy-Eighth Year Of Life

Following a brief illness Mrs Gollehon of Bland county died at her daughter’s home in Bland after collapsing while visiting. A native and lifelong Bland resident, she was mother of attorney James H Gollehon and several other Bland residents. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o clock at the home with interment in a private cemetery.

Mrs W L Moore, 70, esteemed resident of Tazewell and mother of R H Moore of Bluefield, died yesterday at 9:80 am at her daughter’s home in Tazewell. She suffered a paralytic stroke in 1926 and had been in poor health for two years. Born in Thompson Valley, she was the daughter of the late James Q Smith. Her husband was long a merchant in Liberty Hill.

Two Men Perish as Tug Russell 2nd Sinks in Hudson
In Highland Falls New York the tug Russell 2nd sank after a collision with the motorship Chester owned by Ford Motor Company on the Hudson River. Thomas Moran 48 and Sigel Anderson 35 both of New York City were identified as the dead. Eight crew members were rescued by a lifeboat from the Chester.

Russell Crew In Water Rescue After Oil Barge Crash
Russell crew member Russell was unconscious after being struck by floating wreckage and rushed to Cornwall hospital with Aurora head injuries. Five other crew members including Captain Stilwagon and an 18 year old son were treated for lacerations and kept overnight. The Russell was towing an empty oil barge to New York City when the crash occurred.
