Child Injured By Automobile In Giles County
A four year old girl, daughter of Me and Mrs Yo T Flesgerald, was fatally injured when she ran into a car driven by Mrs Fred Grant of Christiansburg Virginia near Nate Rows Giles County. The car was returning to Christiansburg from Bluefield when the incident occurred shortly before 8 pm. The child was taken to St Elisabeth's hospital at Pearlsburg. Mrs Grant reported the accident and received a nurse while authorities prepared to continue the driver home without bail during the investigation. Fred Grant, proprietor of the Virginia Inn in Christiansburg, is Mrs Grant's husband and is well known in the area.

Bluefield Young Man Dies in Welch
Earl Burton, 20, a Kroger Grocery clerk in Bluefield, died at Grace hospital Welch at 9 38 yesterday of pneumonia. He worked last Saturday night, fell ill, then was moved to Welch hospital on Monday. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Robert L Burton of 200 Rinsell street Bluefield born Graham Virginia April 24 1916 and lived here all his life. He was an active member of the Church of God Young Peoples department on South Street. Survived by his parents and brothers Clarence Carl Eli ashath and Geraldine. Funeral Friday at 2 30 at Church of God pastor Rev W C McCraw. Burial Monte Vista Park. Active pallbearers listed. Flower bearers were Church of God Young People ladies.
