Mrs. James W. Starling aged 64 died yesterday at her Franklin street home in Bluefield Virginia after a period of declining health. Born Alice Morgan of Craig county Virginia she was married to James W. Starling who preceded her in death. She leaves five children. Funeral arrangements were not finalized.

A jury found Brewster guilty of voluntary manslaughter for the killing of Tom Whittaker on Whittaker Ridge. In New Martinsville West Virginia Theodore Hosking was convicted for refusing to permit his son Stanley to be immunized against diphtheria and smallpox prior to school attendance. He argued the pre school immunization law was unconstitutional and moved to set aside the verdict.

New River State Teachers College won today's 28.4 mile race from Montgomery to Charleston in 2 hours 38 minutes 44 seconds, defeating Kanawha College which finished in 2 hours 41 minutes 37 seconds. The 42 ton French flying boat Lieutenant De Vaisseau Paris completed a transatlantic experimental flight arriving at Port Washington seaplane base at 5 47 p m after a seven hour hop from Hamilton Bermuda.
