Biblical Play Marks Successful Ramsey Auditorium Event

The final performance of The First Commandment, staged by the Lutheran guild, drew a larger audience than prior shows at the Ramsey auditorium. Milas Madelyn ToteRes, Wilbur Inskip, and the cast delivered fine acting with rich costumes as Nativity scenes and Christmas hymns accompanied by a joyful Hallelujah chorus. Mrs C. W. Pace, guild president, lauded the effort and the cast later enjoyed a party at Ramsey school with refreshments.

Brewster Carter announces marriage of Mary Ellen Brewster to Alvin Carter

Mr and Mrs BE Brewster of Bluefield Virginia announce the marriage of their daughter Mary Ellen to Alvin B Carter of Bluefield West Virginia. The ceremony was held Tuesday evening at the couple's home with Reverend Hey Hughes officiating. Mary Ellen is a Graham high school and St Luke's hospital school of nursing graduate. Alvin is a Beaver high school and Emory and Henry college graduate employed by Bluefield Supply company. The couple will reside at 12 West Street Bluefield Virginia.

Delegations from Talid, Bluewell, Midway and Caffee's Chapel are expected to attend the 7:48 evening service at West Christian Church. Members of the total church and Sunday School are urged to attend in family and class groups. This last midweek loyalty service aims for the largest attendance. Affair At Northfork Memorial Dinner and Music Recital

Northfork chapter 99 Order of the Eastern Star held a covered dish gupper with about eighty guests including visitors from Bhiefield Pocahontas Vis Chicinnati Preeburen Ky Matewan and local members. After business, the Graded Glee club performed three numbers with Mina Brown Noel Mise Gertrude Thompson and Mrs Bessie Madera at the piano singing a Mother's Day duet. A Memorial service is planned for May 15 at the next stated meeting, with public invitation. C A R Meeting Hosts Mary Ann Payne at North Street Home

Miss Mary Ann Payne of West Virginia led a C A R Senior group meeting at her North Street residence. She spoke on the C A R convention in Washington where she was a delegate and piano soloist. Ladies' Golf Day Opens At Bluefield Country Club

Mrs Dean Hosmer's team won by one point over Mrs L B Tierney Jr's squad in the opening Ladies' Day golf event at Bluefield Country Club. Hosmer led with two 1 point scores and a 44 point, while Tierney's writers tallied 44, 1, and 2 points. a playoff tie remains for a final result and a donated golf ball to the winner. Thirty three ladies attended the opening luncheon and comments anticipate an active season.
