Northfork WV professor A H Prunty longtime West Virginia educator and Kimball high school principal died at home after a weekslong illness at Northfork He was a Bluefield State College Howard University and University of Pennsylvania graduate and held leadership roles in state education and church work He is survived by his wife two daughters a brother and two sisters Funeral arrangements are pending.

Parkersburg March 26 State Senator H R Boreman Republican candidate for governor said doubled payments by the State Purchasing Agency are only one of many issues needing a legislative inquiry. Man Charged With Slaying Step-Father In Md
Wakiang Md March 26 Golden Kirk 23 jailed on charge of killing his step father Walter Messenger with power shotgun blasts. Messenger 35 a resident of Borman West Virginia was shot during an altercation after visiting Kirk at his Decor Park home. Sheriff J Teats said Kirk's mother Mildred Messenger had been separated from her husband for a year. She and a 13 year old daughter lived with Kirk.
