Lisa Ann Smith a US Navy E-2 seaman aboard the USS Puget Sound remains at sea beyond the Persian Gulf conflict. Her parents Charles and Jane Smith of McDowell County say she will not return until her six months at sea ends in August. They recall her eagerness for her first tour, the ship’s late course change, and her Saudi Arabia duties during the war. They stress pride, concern, and daily hope for contact and her safe homecoming.
