Two Pennsy Mines Closed By Strikes
Strikes involving 2,500 miners today closed two western Pennsylvania mines. The Vesta No 5 of Jones and Laughlin Steel at Denbo in Washington County was shut as 1,706 miners demanded removal of a cutter and foreman for an alleged safety code violation.
