Cox Views on Nixon Testimony Divide Prosecution
Special prosecutor Archibald Cox faces divergent staff opinions on whether the Watergate grand jury can compel President Nixon to testify and whether he could be indicted. Cox has not decided which views to follow and likely will act only if Nixon’s testimony becomes necessary. Senator Baker urged Nixon to provide a sworn account of his meetings with Dean, while White House aides urged against voluntary appearance.

Court Gift Deed Dispute Over Methodist Home Property
The court faces questions over a 1970 deed to the Methodist Home for land once used as a vocational school.
