County Glerks Attend Banquet in Princeton WV
Ninety persons attended the banquet of the West Virginia County Merks associator at the Virginian hotel in Princeton last night, closing the first data session of the annual meeting. Hosts Castro and Harris of Spencer welcomed members. Ernest L. Dailey, Edgar B. Sims, and Fred Fox addressed the group as department heads. Entertainment included the Mary Lane company, Fred Pendleton and his band, a Joe Penner act, harmonica and vocal numbers, with John Mastin as toastmaster and Eddie Valjo orchestra providing music.

Fatal self inflicted gunshot at Jenkin Jones
A 35 year old man named Mc Daniels, identified as a Jenkin Jones resident, died after a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a local hospital where he died two hours later. The deceased had earlier been in a December accident at work and was described as despondent. He was employed by Pocahontas Fuel company. The incident occurred around 4 pm yesterday at Jenkin Jones.
