G W Comer of 1509 Highland avenue reports seeing twenty to thirty flying saucers near ten last night. He described round bright lights traveling west to east just above clouds with about two feet diameter and rapid motion fading as they disappeared beyond the horizon. His wife daughter and neighbor Joe Whittaker Jr also witnessed the phenomenon.

Decline in N and W Income for May Reported
The Norfolk and Western Railway reports May net income of 2.52 million dollars, down 12 percent from May 1949. For January–May 1950, net income is 9.20 million, down 26 percent from the same period last year. Common stock earnings in May are 41 cents per share, versus 47 cents a year ago. New York June 26 Frank Erickson longtime bookmaker and boss of a coast to coast bookmaking network was jailed for two years and fined 30000 dollars the maximum. Roanoke Woman Beaten Crushed Skull At Son's Home
In Roanoke Virginia on June 26 Mrs W C McCormack 47 wife of a railroad machinist was found in her son's home on Catawba road with a crushed skull and doctors fear she will not recover. Her four year old granddaughter said some men beat grandma and she was discovered by her husband and son who arrived from work. She was taken to a Roanoke hospital.
