Two Americans Slain On Honduran Border
In Tegucigalpa Nicaragua denied responsibility for the killing of two American journalists, Dial Torgerson and Richard Cross, whose car was hit by an anti-tank shell near the Honduran border. Honduras accused Nicaragua of a cross border attack while Managua blamed U.S. and Honduran support for insurgents. The Sandinistas said no attack on Honduras occurred and condemned the deaths as a monstrous crime. President Reagan expressed deep regret and a White House statement honored the slain journalists. The area was declared high danger as authorities warned locals and a ceremonial tribute was held at the air base.

Bond Set For Three In Gordon Kahl Case

If convicted, charged parties face up to 10 years and a 10000 dollar fine, with Mrs. Utley potentially facing up to five years and a 5000 dollar fine.
